Basically, when we were studying, no one told us how to find and pursue our dreams. Many people told us to go to university, find a good job, and then retire, as if the whole world thought so. However, when we seriously went out into society and had more contact with society, we found that the dream was not just about finding a job, but about how to buy a car and a house, or whether there was a chance to travel to Europe, etc. To be honest, I don’t believe that this is the only way in life. Life is not just about working to earn money and retiring, nor is it just about success with social values. When I was looking for my own path, I participated in a brainstorming activity. There was a classmate who was about to graduate. The subject he studied had no future in Hong Kong. In the end, many classmates like him chose to work in insurance.
He sounded as if he was about to break down and cry, and although he held it in, we also felt the way out of society and the environment, which seemed to tell us a cruel fact: working to earn money to buy a house is our only way out; however, I did not believe it, so I chose to start a business, an alternative way to make a living besides working to earn money, engaging in insurance or direct sales - that is to pursue my own dreams and become an entrepreneur who helps others pursue their dreams.
However, it is not easy to pursue your dreams. You cannot find many people to support and identify with you because everyone already believes that working can make money. It is also not easy to find people who are willing to support you in starting a business or pursuing your dreams. Even if I set up a dream community, the people I attract are either for the insurance or direct sales industry, or they have no dreams at all and just casually regard the dreams of social values as their ideal friends. This makes it impossible for us to move forward. When we were holding courses and activities regularly, suddenly an epidemic caused all offline activities to be stopped. We lost our space and income in an instant and were almost in a state of wanting to give up.
Fortunately, at this time I met a PhD from Singapore. Not only had he successfully listed twice, but he also had a more far-sighted mindset than anyone else. He believed in the power of the Internet world and that everyone could achieve their dreams, allowing them to achieve success through their passion. This is also what IdeaCray believes in, "Turn Passion into Success." During the epidemic period, we took a new step and learned digital entrepreneurship and programming in the form of a learning community for a year. I also took this opportunity to learn how to program (Python) and use digital platforms to build systems - including AWS (building websites, learning platforms, etc.), customer relationship management systems, and knowing how to do digital marketing and other processes.
In addition to adult classes, we plan to launch a student or young people version. The initial plan was to focus on primary and secondary school students. We started with a few months of training content, and found several primary schools to cooperate with, and even went to Shenzhen and other places to communicate with some parents. However, after several months of training, we found many serious problems, including that the primary and secondary schools want us to help their schools in a yearly manner, and even set up school teams and participate in competitions, and parents hope that students can exchange for something, such as a certificate, something that can be seen or designed and used. However, entrepreneurship and programming are not so simple things that can be produced. It requires time and continuous thinking of strategies, and it is not one or two competitions that can succeed. This also indirectly shows that many young entrepreneurs start a business just for competitions or funding, rather than really wanting to start a business, so there are not many projects that continue after completion.
Another level is that the students themselves don’t want to learn programming, so no matter how we teach or interact, they have no patience at all. So in the end we plan to raise the age limit and focus on college students and graduates. On the one hand, we hope that they can make decisions for their own lives, and on the other hand, we hope that more people will not have to pursue their goals based on money or social values (which I will temporarily regard as wrong values), but truly pursue what they want.
We are not talking about that money or academic qualifications are not important, but that your life and the skills you learn are more important than you think, and a dream is just a mission, a clear direction that allows you to make choices more quickly and independently, and you can change your social class, your life destiny and other things because of this dream.
Finally, I have compiled my ten years of experience in pursuing my dreams and starting a business. If you are also interested, please fill in the form.
